Inspired by ideas of ‘commoning’, RE:FORM is a two-day event of collectively building an ever changing installation through a kind of communal play, with the intention to look deeper into the joys and challenges of co-existing within the competitive society of efficiency and productivity. The motivation behind the event comes from the artists’ interests in the physical exchange of ideas and skills, but also the social side of play, how to negotiate and resolve differences of opinions and allowing space to develop individual vision. A reflection and sharing session (with invited guests) on thoughts on collectivity and different modes of practices will take place at the end of the second day.

During the event, EG-1 Project Space will be divided into two areas: a play area for making, where basic art materials will be provided and an idle space for tea, snack and conversations. This event is open to all, no matter how experienced and inexperienced they are in making. Participants are free to drop in at anytime during the event and will be invited to spend time in these areas for as long as they wish. The play area is limited to grown-ups only. Children are welcome in the idle area and watch their parents/guardians play, after all they are the experts in negotiating communal play. The artists facilitators will be assisting in both areas.
