Ed Kluz - Facades
Kluz's work explores contemporary perceptions of the past through the reimagining of historic landscapes, buildings and objects. The ideas of early Romanticism, the Picturesque movement and antiquarian representations of topography and architecture underpin his approach to image making.
This show, 'Facades', is split in to three parts. First a series of ink drawings of the City of London gates. Second a series recreating some of the Triumphal Arches designed by Stephen Harrison to celebrate the coronation of James I in London in 1604. Finally a group of large scale oil and collage panels of some of London’ most famous buildings such as the Whitehall Palace, the Royal Exchange to the Ranelagh Rotunda.
