At the dawn of the 20th Century, we witnessed the emergence of the artistic forms that transcend figuration. Fauvism, Expressionism, Cubism, and Futurism were the foundational bases of this new movement, which paved the way for the innumerable ramifications of non-figurative art.

Amongst the pioneering female artists at the forefront of such developments throughout the 20th Century are Eileen Agar, Paule Vézelay, Berenice Sydney, Bridget Riley and Fiona Rae.

Gillian Jason Gallery is glad to announce ‘Beyond Figuration: Now and Then’, a group show that will see these renowned and established artists in conversation with emerging non-figurative artists, the pioneers of tomorrow.
