Ilga Leimanis - Excess All Areas
Five Years will be hosting Ilga Leimanis for a short residency to develop a new series of drawings.
This new work picks up from another series of drawings made earlier this year. These small pieces explored excess: overflowing vessels poured forth their contents and offered a vehicle to visualise the rhythm and energy of overflow and inundation.
Work made during this residency hopes to explore a darker, fragmented, more explosive and turbulent excess, its energy uncontained and overflowing.
