Ronchini Gallery presents a solo exhibition of new works by New York-based artist Jacob Hashimoto, famed for his large-scale sculptures composed of hundreds, or thousands of paper and bamboo kites.

The exhibited selection of 10-12 site-specific pieces reflect the artist’s ongoing exploration of how to break the picture plane and bring an artwork into the viewer’s physical space.

Hashimoto creates complex worlds from modular components that lie halfway between painting and sculpture, and he has described his process as an organic transition from making field paintings to building fields of objects.
