Massimo Minini: the Story of a Gallerist. Screening and discussion

"Massimo Minini: the Story of a Gallerist" (66', 2019, Italian with English subtitles), directed by Manuela Teatini celebrates the 45th anniversary of his gallery years - giving the public a private viewing of Minini’s amazing everyday life, his cultural assignments, and his vast knowledge.

He started in the 1970s with an interest in Conceptual Art, Minimal Art and Arte Povera (Boetti, Fabro, LeWitt, Graham, Berry, Buren, Accardi, Clemente, Michele Zaza). In 1973 he opened his gallery Banco (later called Galleria Massimo Minini)in his hometown of Brescia, which he never left even after becoming one of the most famous gallerists in the world.

After working with international artists in the late 70s , including Spalletti, Jan Fabre, Anish Kapoor, Giulio Paolini, Luigi Ontani to name but a few, in the 90s he started his collaboration with Maurizio Cattelan, and others like Eva Marisaldi, Mario Airo', Stefano Arienti, Vanessa Beecroft and many others. More recently the gallery has hosted important shows by artists like Yona Friedman, Roger Ballen, Nedko Solakov, Peter Halley, Ghada Amer and many newcomers. The gallery also shows works by Shusaku Arakawa, Antonio Calderara, Titina Maselli, Luigi Ghirri, Betty and Francesca Woodman.
