St George London, Southwark Council, and Victoria Miro Gallery are delighted to announce 65,000 Photographs, a new permanent public artwork for One Blackfriars London by Idris Khan.

Referring to Khan's personal archive of some 65,000 photographs, the London-based artist will create a work that serves as a record of our zeal to document our lives and offers pause for reflection on the nature of passing time.

At eight metres tall, and employing sand casting methods, the structure will escalate skywards, its constituent blocks growing in size in relation to dimensions of standard photographic prints.
