Quentin Blake - Gifted

This summer, in an exhibition of large-scale and never-before-seen drawings, The Foundling Museum reveals Sir Quentin Blake at his most insightful, bringing to life the internal and complex emotional landscape of childhood. Reversing Blake’s iconic process of illustration, the Museum has asked writers including Jackie Kay, Yomi Sode and long-time collaborator, Michael Rosen, to respond to Blake’s extraordinary gift, for display alongside his drawings.

Blake’s works form two emotive series, Children and Dogs, and Children, Birds and Dogs, - the latter made especially for the Museum.

‘The drawings in my donation look at the relationship of the children I draw with living things around them – sometimes positive but often tentative – comparable to the ones they may have to the world around them. I hope they invite our sympathy but also our respect’. Sir Quentin Blake.

Tickets: £9.50 (Concession: £7.50 )
