6 - 8pm, Thursday 2nd Sep
Opening
Sophie Barber + Graham Little
Sophie Barber - Barber’s inaugural show at the gallery, ‘How Much Love Can a Love Bird Love, Can a Love Bird Love a Love Bird’, follows her solo exhibition at Goldsmiths CCA, London (2020), curated by Sarah McCrory. Barber’s work is less concerned with the practice of painting than the process that brings it to life: the manner in which imagery appeals to us, presses into us and, ultimately, becomes part of our visual language
Graham Littlie - Alison Jacques presents solo exhibition of new work by Graham Little (b. 1972, Dundee, UK), on view in the Upstairs Gallery.
The exhibition follows the publication of Inside the water sleep (2019), a monograph featuring essays from Martin Herbert and Laura Smith, and coincides with Little’s inclusion in ‘Mixing it Up: Painting Today’ (9 September–12 December 2021), a major survey at Hayward Gallery, London, curated by Ralph Rugoff.
