Will St. John paints portraits of Drag Queens, Trans models, rendering them in the traditional setting of Old Masters, painting the characters with the same reverence as the portraits of the past. He pairs them alongside antique porcelain figurines, trinkets and phantoms in his eclectic world.

Some of his portraits even render into porcelain statues, snuff boxes, and lockets, freezing them in time. Will St. John spent years studying Renaissance painting techniques in Florence and around Europe. With the trained techniques of classical realism, he learned during his formative years in Italy. St. John ventured into new territories under the influence of the contemporary New York art scene, bringing these skills to his community of Bohemian New Yorkers.
